Welcome to Under the Oak
Centrally located in North-West Tasmania in the buzzing town of Ulverstone and just 15-20 minutes from Devonport ferry terminal and airport.
Under The Oak provides a platform for Tasmanian makers and artisans to showcase their unique wares in an inviting retail setting. We stock over 50 Tasmanian brands of quality handmade products including jewellery, homewares, clothing, paper craft, artwork and some timber items.
Take home a little piece of 'Tassie' and its people with an item that has been handmade with love and care.

Our Story
From a notebook of ideas and 24 makers, Under The Oak was established in December 2011 in the cheapest rental in town for a 12 month ‘business experiment’. From one success to another, 9 years on, Under The Oak is now housed in a larger store in the centre of the CBD in the beachside town of Ulverstone, where it has grown to host the work of around 50 artisans from around the state.
How we work
At Under The Oak, our Tasmanian artisans sell their wares on consignment. When you purchase a product from one of our makers, you are not only supporting that artisan and their family but also investing in our local community and state.
